For a long time, I’ve believed that websites are similar to the clothes you put on. I thought the analogy between website design packages clothes and websites was something that my eccentric mind had in mind but I was wrong. Our client recently stated that the same similar thing. When I got my bearings back we had a chat about it, and I realized that websites actually are similar to the clothes you put on!
Websites Are Personal
Many of our clients want to know our opinion throughout their website design phase. I’m an opinionated individual and although I freely share my opinions, I warn people about how to interpret the information. For many their site is as personal as their clothes.
I’m an extremely OCD person, therefore I like websites that are clean and white. I’m also confident and self-confident I also like colors like red. My style of clothing is black, white and red. Do you see a trend? I’m simple in my clothing choices and will choose ease over style every days of the week. When it comes to websites, I’ll choose functionality and personal alignment before I reach for bling and flash. That’s what I like about my style. It’s not for everyone.
Websites are similar. I could come up with the most perfect WordPress design for Jane but it won’t necessarily be suitable for Mary. The trick is to understand your personal style and ensure that your web design represents your personality online.
The person I mentioned above is a lawyer from an attorney firm with thirty or more attorneys. The process of obtaining a look and feel that is compatible with the aesthetic requirements of thirty highly educated and opinion logo designer near me lawyers isn’t easy. Each attorney has their distinct style and every attorney requires something unique. There is no way to make all lawyers wear the same clothes and I’m not able to create a website that can make thirty lawyers happy. In the end , we created an internet site that could be used by people of all ages and tried to remain conservative enough everyone would be satisfied.
Websites Need to Be Updated Regularly
Websites, like the clothes you have in your closet should be refreshed every once every once in a while. My parachute pants were super trendy in the 80’s however, not so much in 2013. Remember the days when grey and black technology websites were were all the rage? or table-based websites? Or flash-based websites? Oh, how quickly things alter.
As simple as the 12px font size has been put to the back of the pack. Nowadays, a majority of our designs use minimum fifteen pixels in size. Why? The resolution of monitors was changed. Monitors were replaced, screens changed, mobile devices were introduced and the average age of Internet users has increased.
